NWest Energy Inc. is a Canadian based resource company focused on exploration, acquisition and advancement of oil and gas properties primarily along the west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

During 2006 and 2007, the company acquired four properties totalling 1.6 million acres, located offshore western Newfoundland. All four properties were previously explored in the 1990’s during the downturn in the industry’s cycle by multinationals like Mobil Oil and BHP Exploration. All properties have defined seismic targets along with considerable exploration potential to host large oil and gas reservoirs. In 2011, NWest evaluated the unconventional resource potential of these licences and AJM Petroleum Consultants completed an independent resources evaluation which determined a Best Estimate of the Undiscovered Petroleum Initially-in-Place Resource of 18.8 billion barrels Through the newly consolidated Exploration License 1097R with the Canada-Newfoundland Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board, NWest holds approximately 500,000 million acres of highly prospective property in a geologically favorable environment for exploration.
